Gas Mark 8 is delighted to announce that its partnership with GatewayC, the NHS early cancer diagnosis resource, has been shortlisted for the 2026 HSJ Partnership Awards in the Best Educational Programme for the NHS category.
Widely regarded as the gold standard for recognising outstanding collaboration between suppliers and the NHS, the HSJ Partnership Awards attracted over 240 entries this year. Following a rigorous judging process, Gas Mark 8 and GatewayC were named among more than 160 organisations, projects and individuals shortlisted for the 2026 programme.
The judging panel for the 2026 awards brought together a diverse group of highly respected healthcare leaders, including David Davis, Chief Clinical Information Officer at London Ambulance Service NHS Trust; Maria Kane, Chief Executive of North Bristol NHS Trust; Louise Stead, Group CEO of Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust; Nina Khazaezadeh, Regional Chief Midwife for London, NHSE London; and Peter Kelly, Regional Director and NHS Director of Public Health for Yorkshire and North East England, Office of Health Improvement and Disparities.
GatewayC is a free, trusted NHS resource used by thousands of primary care professionals across England, Wales and Scotland. Content, including courses, podcasts, short bite-sized reads, and other educational tools are continuously updated to reflect the latest cancer guidance and evidence.
Gas Mark 8 designed, built and continues to evolve the GatewayC platform through a longstanding, highly collaborative partnership with the GatewayC team and clinical leads at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. From the outset, the programme has been codesigned with NHS stakeholders, ensuring it remains clinically grounded, scalable and accessible.
Alice Bowden, Programme Lead at GatewayC, said: “Working with Gas Mark 8 has been a truly collaborative experience. Their technical expertise has been instrumental in building a robust digital platform that supports a wide range of educational programmes, while giving us the flexibility to grow and evolve GatewayC in line with NHS priorities for early cancer diagnosis.”
Mike Richwalsky, Managing Director at Gas Mark 8, said: “We are immensely proud to work alongside the GatewayC team and to be recognised together through this shortlist. It has been a privilege to contribute our digital expertise to a programme that supports clinicians and ultimately improves outcomes for NHS patients.”
Winners will be announced at the HSJ Partnership Awards ceremony on March 19, 2026 at Evolution London. The event celebrates excellence in healthcare collaboration and recognises the people and partnerships improving outcomes for patients across the UK.
